YouTube - MY DICK - MICKEY AVALON - Music Video - featuring Andre Legacy & Dirt Nasty

This song is stupid and sophomoric, but the line "We got dicks like Jesus" just gave me pause. It's right up there with the bumpesticker I saw that said, "Jesus would use his turn signals"

<lj-embed id="72" />

Would anyone like a free Christmas tree? We've been gifted one but don't really want it. We pick it up on December 5, and we're not bringing it to our house. I do have a truck and am willing to deliver the blessings of the season.

Tonya Kay!

Squee! Tonya Kay friended me on Facebook! Bigtime Fanboy Squee!

Okay, I'm a fan of Tonya Kay and in a recent interview she referenced local artist Paul Rucker as one of her heroes. So I emailed Paul because that's super amazingly cool and said that I was a fan of hers, and Paul told Tonya and she added me as a friend.

And now I'm just squeeing all over the place because she's just the coolest Pagan ever. Definitely none of that dark mysterious stuff. She's just in-your-face groovy cool. She's Pagan like real Pagans, not like TV Pagans, except that she's on TV.

92.5 morning show

I was just listening to the 92.5 morning show and it was vile.

They were talking about Muslim extremism and questioned that there must be something wrong with a religion that justifies such extremism. Most of the leaders of US corporations are Christian, and the United States is one of the world leaders for green-house gas emissions. So can we also say that there must be something about Christianity that justifies destroying the environment?

Then they mocked fat people. They spent about 5 minutes mocking some guy for nothing other than being over weight.

I don't really blame the people who were on the radio making these comments because they were clearly too stupid to understand the implications of what they were saying. I'm more concerned about the management which continues to allow these people to be so vile, and the public who continue to tune in to hear them being so vile.

I'm not checking LJ. I haven't in about a month. Too busy.

I had a temp job. Today we close on a house. Then I have one month to get it to pass FHA inspection. I also have a time consuming hobby (i.e. Paganistani Promotions). Something had to give and that was LiveJournal. Maybe I'll read it again some day. I might occasionally post because it helps me track what's going on in my life, but I'm not reading.

Bye.

Trip to the Botanica

I had been planning to go to the botanica on E. Lake between 5th & 6th with friends today, and with moving forward on the house, I really wanted to make an offering to Santa Muerta. I'm getting ready for Sacred Harvest Fest, and finalizing things on the house, but I need Santa Muerta on my side, so this was important.

So we come out of the botanica and the woman who drove, her car had been towed, and it will cost $250 to get it. It was in a parking lot and while we were in the store signs were posted that it was a private lot and people would be towed by a guy who (as it turns out) was in prison until a month ago for extortion.

The trip to the botanica ended up being a day long adventure in stress and frustration. But now I'm home and can deal with my other sources of stress and frustration.

Animal-Speak Elements

Chapter 3 of the Ted Andrews book Animal-Speak contains excellent descriptions of the four elements.

AIR pg 37-40 The Lesson of Responsible Relationships

pg. 38) "Air and the East are associated with creativity, inspiration and higher awareness. The element of air is often representative of the powers of the mind, of new wisdom and higher intuition. It is the power of self-mastery through appropriate use of strength and will.

"Air links the Earth and the heavens. It is a symbol of the unity of all things. It is what ties all life on this planet together. Nothing can live without air. it is the subtle influence of relationships. The links are not always visible, but they are always present.

"The element of air is the expansion of the mind. It is learning to control the workings of the mind and to see the links between Earth and the heavens, the animals and humans and all life."

FIRE pg. 24-26 The Lesson of Life, Death, and Rebirth

pg. 25-26) "Fire is destructive as well as creative. It purifies, and it burns away the dross so that the gold can shine forth. It is the mystery of the phoenix who rises from the ashes. Fire is the element of the heart, the center of passions and love that can help us to recreate our lives. It is the element of regeneration and resurrection, and it is this lesson which enables us to use the fires of our experience to create positive changes in our life."

WATER pg. 28-30 The Lesson of Adaptation

pg. 29) "Water will take the form of its container and will follow the path of least resistance. It is the element that reflects the shifting of emotions through the use of imagination. Water can absorb and concentrate life in varying degrees."

"Water is often associated with intuition, dreams and inner vision, and journeys. It is one of the most ancient forms of transportation. Water that does not flow becomes stagnant. This is a reminder to always use our natural abilities to flow and change according to need. Water will adapt itself to its environment."

EARTH pg. 30-36 The Lesson of Using Your Potential

pg. 34) "This element is symbolic of wisdom, patience, and prosperity. Part of the lesson is that we can receive from Mother earth all that we need. By being true to yourselves, we will have what we need. Mother Earth is where we have come to learn and to grow. It is where we learn to free ourself from our limitations. It is here that we begin our quest for the Grail of Life, which is the quest for our true essence and how best to manifest that essence within our life.

"The ancient mystery schools taught the axiom 'Know thyself and thou shalt know the world!'" "That which we know, we share in. When we know ourselves and the treasures within us, we become open to the treasures of the Earth.

In the archeological record, occasionally remains are found whit evidence of a debilitating wound which had healed, showing that the victim was supported by a community. Archeologists always get very excited when they find such evidence. Likewise, this article helps me to believe that border collies are fairly high on the evolutionary ladder.

Blind border collie gets his own guide dog - Telegraph
